Scout councilors tackle environmental, social issues

BAGUIO CITY – As part of their training for leadership and socio-civic duties, Scout Councilors (SC) from the city's public and private secondary schools tackled 28 proposed resolutions and ordinances during the session last Monday afternoon.

This, after turn-over rites where 81 boy and girl scouts sat as Scout Officials for a Day (SOFAD), led by Scout Jemma Sabelo from Easter College High School (ECHS) as congressman; Roald Eras Xavier Bautista from Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) as mayor; Loida Faith Dalingay of the same school as vice-mayor; councilors, city department and assistant department heads, judges in the municipal and regional trial courts and some utility institutions.

Oplan Kaluluwa on, tourist spots included in police spots

BAGUIO CITY – A coordination plan for a hassle -free All Saints and All Souls day, including a walk-through, is being ironed out by city and barangay officials, the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), volunteers and concerned citizens.

In a meeting with City Administrator Carlos Canilao last week, details as to parking areas, loading and unloading, cemetery set-up, BCPO personnel deployment, area of volunteer responsibility, medical emergency and evacuation plan were thoroughly discussed, including road re-routing.
