Baguio crime rate drops in first 11 months

BAGUIO CITY December 06 – The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) reported that with the active support of stakeholders and force multipliers there was a significant decrease in crimes, coupled with the improved crime solution efficiency, for the first eleven months of this year.

Senior Superintendent Ramil L. Saculles, BCPO City Director, said from January to November this year, the total crime volume recorded was 3,220 incidents which was lower by 2,657 crimes, equivalent to a 47% decrease compared to the same period last year where 6,077 crimes were recorded.

857 wanted persons arrested in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY December 06 – Combined police operatives and intelligence agents were able to arrest some 857 wanted persons in the city during the first 11 months of the year.

Senior Superintendent Ramil L. Saculles, City Director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), said the arrests made by the police operatives this year had a significant increase of 241 arrests or 28% higher compared to the same period last year.

Tourism establishments told to provide statistics

BAGUIO CITY December 07 – The City Council approved on first reading a proposed ordinance mandating all hotels, resorts, apartelles, pension houses, tourist inns, transient houses, and other similar accommodation establishments in the city to submit their tourism statistical data to the Office of the City Administrator – Tourism and Special Events Division (CAO-TSED).

The ordinance authored by Councilor Elmer Datuin stated all licensed accommodation establishments accomplish their tourism statistical data monthly based on standards and formulas provided by the Department of Tourism. Further, the licensed accommodation establishments are required to submit the monthly statistical data to the CAO-TSED on or before the 10th day of each month.

299 drug personalities fall in Baguio police operations

BAGUIO CITY December 07 – Some 299 drug personalities were arrested by combined police operatives and intelligence agents in the city during the intensified anti-drug operations by the operatives of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) from January 1 to October 10, 2017.

Senior Superintendent Ramil L. Saculles, BCPO City Director, revealed that of the accounted and arrested drug personalities 241 were said to be drug pushers and 58 are drug users.

Further, he noted there were some 2,383 drug personalities who surrendered to the combined police operatives and intelligence agents during the implementation of Oplan Tokhang in the different parts of the city.

3 CAR entries land in nat'l nutrition awards

BAGUIO CITY December 07 – Two local governments and an individual entry from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) landed as one of the honorees in the different categories during the awarding ceremonies of the National Nutrition Council (NNC), which will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.

Rita Papey of NNC-CAR said Baguio City has two entries while Alfonso Lista, Ifugao was able to maintain its consistency in being one of the outstanding winners in nutrition for the year.
