DOH sets mobile blood donation activity

BAGUIO CITY – The Civil Service Commission-Cordillera Adminstrative Region (CSC-CAR) is enjoining the city government to support the Mobile Philippine Blood Donation activity spearheaded by the Department of Health, Center for Health Development(DOH-CHD)-CAR on December 6, 2018, at the DOH-CHD-CAR Regional Training Center, here, with the theme, "Pamaskong Dugo, Buhay ang Regalo".

In a letter to Mayor Mauricio Domogan, CSC-CAR Dir. Marilyn Taldo said the one-day event is in support of the government's campaign to institutionalize "Malasakit, Pagbabago at Patuloy na Pag-unlad" as enshrined in the Philippine Development Plan for 2017 to 2022.

"As the theme aptly suggests, every drop of blood donated is a precious Christmas gift that will certainly go a long way in helping meet the increasing demand for blood among government hospitals in the Cordillera region and augment its blood requirement," she said.

Taldo added that the activity also underscores the employee-donors' important role in exemplifying and promoting the values of volunteerism and "malasakit" in public service for their one client – the Filipino people.

City human resource management officer Augustin Laban III endorsed Taldo's letter to all City Hall department and office heads for their information and appropriate action.-gaby keith
