Top city hall employees feted in the 117th CS anniversary celeb
BAGUIO CITY - The city government of Baguio joined the 117thPhilippine Civil Service anniversary celebration by recognizing and honoring its outstanding employees at the Hotel Supreme, last Friday afternoon.
Congressman Marquez Go and Mayor Mauricio Domogan delivered their respective messages for the awardees, while Civil Service Commission director Atty. Marilyn taldo served as guest of honor and speaker.
The guest of honor and speaker exhorted and urged the employees to perform their duties and responsibilities well and at the same time reminded civil servants to manifest malasakit in public service, as to this year's theme: "Tugon sa Hamon ng Pagbabago: Malasakit ng Lingkod Bayani."
Twenty nine outstanding-nominees from the first and second levels from July to December 2016 and January to June this year from the different departments were feted.
Out of the 29 nominees, twelve were awarded outstanding employees of the year 2017.
Awarded as outstanding employees were Ellen Dayag and Cynthia Daweg, both of the Social Welfare Office; Gloria Laureta and Amelia Joan Clerigo of the City Human Resource Management Office; Bernardo Urbano, Jr. and Juan Manantan of the Engineering Office; Democrito Monsalud, Jr. of the Assessor's Office; Dexter See and Elena Berganio of the City Mayor's Office; Regina Cawiding and Josephine Cosep of the City Environment and Parks Management Office; and Cesaria Buayan of the Veterinary Office.
The other outstanding nominees include Jonathan Alejandro and Jennifer Bay-on of the Accounting Office; Ceasar Onoza of the Assessor's Office; Emmalyn Colansong of the City Buildings and Architecture Office; Cristobal Bulacan and Luz Perez of the Civil Registry Office; Amy Jane Calugay of the Engineering Office; Aurea Bayawa, Myrna Holanio and Edna Tabo-oy of the Health Services Office; Bernadette Gundran, Felina Diaz and Jonathan Fontanos of the Sangguniang Panlungsod; Daniel Flores, George Addawe and Placido Generao of the Treasury Office; and Carolina Gonzales of the Veterinary Office.
Plaques of recognition and cash awards were presented to the said outstanding employees by their respective department and office heads, congressman Go, mayor Domogan, vice mayor Edison Bilog, councilors and city human resource management officer Atty. Augustin Laban, III.
Retirees, loyal employees, outstanding employees of the semester, graduates of masteral courses and doctorate were also presented and recognized during the simple ceremony. *Jho Arranz
