BCJFD SALUTES UNIT ACHIEVERS

Praise and recognition are essential to an outstanding workplace. People want to be respected and valued for their contribution. Everyone feels the need to be recognized as an individual or member of a group and to feel a sense of achievement for work well done or even for a valiant effort. Everyone wants a 'pat on the back' to make them feel good. So goes the principle that J/SINSP APRIL ROSE W AYANGWA desires to impart to her staff, following the 26th year Anniversary of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology with the theme; "Sustinidong Paglilinis ng Bilangguan Tungo sa Hamong Pagbabago sa Ating Lipunan".

With this challenge, personnel of the Baguio City Jail Female Dorm (BCJFD) were acknowledged for their achievements in a Unit Anniversary held on August 21. This is one way of daring them to move on to greater heights, exceeding their commitments and going beyond ordinary achievements.

Unit recipients of awards were: JO2 John Vincent S Budaden, Male JNCO of the Year; JO1 Midshell L Luis, Female JNCO of the Year; JO3 Elvira S Dulay, Admin JNCO of the Year; JO2 Mary Grace S Malayo, Paralegal JNCO of the Year; JO2 Celestino A Dangiwan, CRS JNCO of the Year; jo2 Hilda C Maldis, IWD JNCO of the Year; JO1 Lumbanay Jasmine D Domacyon, Health JNCO of the Year; JO2 Rosana A Malanta, Custodial JNCO of the Year; and JO1 Maribel P Pedro, Escort JNCO of the Year. Special citations were given to SJO3 Jean B Billick and SJO1 Euglemma M Loquio for their hard work in assisting the Warden.

The program did not undermine the efforts of the residents in their quest for development and transformation as they prepare themselves for reintegration to the mainstream of society. They were also upheld for their being resilient, active, helpful, organized and accommodating.

J/SINSP AYANGWA and JO2 Raquel M Escat were named City Jail Warden of the Year and TC Implementer of the Year, respectively; in the search for Regional BJMPs Bests 2017.

BJMP was created pursuant to section 60 of Republic Act 6975, otherwise known as the Department of the Interior and Local Government Act of 1990. It has now 11,720 personnel, which is only 20.52% of the ideal manpower needs of BJMP, exercising jurisdiction over 175 district jails, 94 city jails and 128 municipal jails./bcjfd press release
