Spay and neuter area for dogs and cats, in the works

BAGUIO CITY – The city veterinary office (CVO) under Dr. Brigit Piok is hoping that several projects including the construction of a spay and neuter area for dogs and cats will commence before the end of this year to further improve her office's services to the public.

Others are the construction of a sewage treatment plant for the city abattoir, a composting area and the upgrading of slaughterhouse facilities, machineries and buildings.

She said the preparation of plans, design and cost estimates of these projects by concerned offices are currently underway.

This was revealed in Piok's report in Monday's flag-raising ceremony at City hall before officials and employees headed by Mayor Mauricio Domogan.

She also disclosed that the CVO will conduct neuter activities on October 5 and 6 and December 7 and 8 as part of its dog population control program.-gaby keith
