20 barangays ordered to liquidate livelihood funds

BAGUIO CITY August 02 – Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan ordered some twenty punong barangays to liquidate more than P15 million livelihood funds that were downloaded to their barangays to prevent the non-release of future assistance to beneficiaries of the government's livelihood assistance program in the future.

The local chief executive informed the concerned punong barangays to submit to the labor department their complete liquidation reports to avoid being marked in bad standing and to allow more residents to benefit from the livelihood assistance being extended by the agency to concerned barangays.

The punong barangays with their conduit associations and the corresponding livelihood funds were Asin punong barangay Peter Dumape with the Likhang Kamay ni Nanay Association – P406,603, East Banay Park punong barangay Tomas E. Tolete with the East Bayan Park Ladies Circle – P206,247, Malcolm Square punong barangay William Domoguen with the Good Care Multipurpose Cooperative – P108,173, Upper Dagsian punong barangay Raymund F. Ruivivar with the United Dagsian Livelihood Association – P499,180, Brookspoint punong barangay Douglas T. Sial with the Brookspoint Trading and Livelihood Association – P228,825, Slaughterhouse punong barangay with the Barangay Sto. Niño Livelihood and Entrepreneur Association – P247,650, Gabriela Siang punong barangay Andres S. Ricerra, Jr. with the Gabriela Silang Butchers and Meat Processors Association – P198,842, San Luis punong barangay George L. Saguid, Jr. with the Pamilya-Tahana-Simbahan Para sa Panumbalik ng Kalikasan, Inc. – P310,630, Camp 7 punong barangay Constancio F. Danao with the Barangay Camp 7 Agriculture and Fishery Council – P297,700, Loakan Apugan punong barangay Martin Anglog with the Loakan-Apugan Mothers' Association – P308,215, Brookside punong barangay James D. Doligas with the Barangay Brookside Women's Organization – P420,910, Fairview punong barangay Justina P. Andaya with the Fairview Nam-ay's Club – P306,497, Irisan punong barangay Thomas K. Dumalti with the Irisan Dumpsite Workers Cooperative – P365,570, M. Roxas-Teachers Camp punong barangay Elsie Magdalene B. Tindoc with the Taga Baligya M. Roxas Barangay – P446,470, East Modernsite punong barangay Nenita Trinidad with the United Amsing Livelihood Association – P124,999, Pinsao Pilot Project punong barangay Sotero Dulyacan with the Friar Tuck Beekeeping Organization – P494,190, St. Joseph Village punong barangay Conchita H. Rillera with the Baguio City Beauty Care Association – P149,341, Happy Hallow punong barangay Soriano A. Palonan with the DES-OKAN BALATAN Indigenous People Organization – P454,470 and Camp 8 punong barangay Mariano T. Pinto with the Camp 8 Arise Livelihood Association – P447,460.

Further, the local government and various associations were also ordered to liquidate some P8,954,700 in livelihood assistance accessed through the labor department's livelihood assistance fund under the bottoms up budgeting of the previous administration.

Earlier, Apollo R. Luspian, head of the Baguio-Benguet field office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), sought the assistance of Mayor Domogan for the submission of liquidation reports from the different barangays within the city considering that the livelihood funds accessed by the different associations under the jurisdiction of the said barangays have not yet submitted their required liquidation reports.
