P-noy urged to make moratorium on tree-cutting total

BAGUIO CITY – Councilor Isabelo Cosalan Jr. wants President Benigno Aquino III to expand the tree-cutting moratorium to make it a total prohibition.

Aquino, on Feb. 1, 2011 issued Executive Order No. 23 entitled, "Declaring a Moratorium on the Cutting and Harvesting of Timber in the Natural and Residual Forests and Creating the Anti-Illegal Logging Task Force."

Cordi leaders cement support to autonomy

BAGUIO CITY – Cordillera leaders cemented their support to the creation of the autonomous region via a manifesto of joint support for the passage of House Bill (HB) 5595 and Senate Bill (SB) 3115 that seeks to establish an autonomous region in the Cordillera signed during the 25th Cordillera Day celebration last July 15.
