Sustained free access, council scrutiny of terms sought on athletic bowl rehab

BAGUIO CITY – Athletic Bowl should remain to be free of charge and accessible to the public if its rehabilitation plan materializes and the city council should have a hand in deciding on the final terms of the contract for the development of the decrepit sports facility.

These were among the conditions considered by the city council while deliberating on the proposed terms of reference (TOR) for the development of the Athletic Bowl last Monday.

Study group formed for dumpsite conversion

BAGUIO CITY – Acting mayor Daniel Farinas last week created a technical working group to study the conversion of the former Irisan dumpsite into an eco-tourism park.

In Administrative Order No. 115 series of 2012, Farinas included in the study the possibility of mining methane gas in the area using it renewable energy.

Mines view building rates still on hold; dads set ocular inspection

BAGUIO CITY – The deadlock over the rental rates for the newly constructed Mines View Park Multi-Purpose building remained after city councilors on Monday failed to agree anew on the fees.

The body instead decided to conduct an ocular inspection of the site to personally see the conditions of the building and the stalls.

Barangays conduct clean-up drive

BAGUIO CITY – A clean-up activity was held along the tributary creeks of the barangays here within the Balili river basin last Tuesday, Sept. 18.

The activity is part of the celebration of Balili River day last September 16, which aims to encourage the participation of households to rehabilitate and revive the river for its beneficial use, protect the water source from indiscriminate dumping of wastes and prevent contamination and occurrence of river-related diseases.
