Mayor seeks cooperation from vendors

BAGUIO CITY – The city government here have opened up selected spaces in the city's public market for sidewalk vendors to sell their wares.

Mayor Mauricio Domogan during the weekly Ugnayan presser Wednesday said 25 stalls at Block 3 have been made available to accommodate vendors who wish to avail of the same.

BAGUIO CITY – Torrential rains triggered by typhoon "Gener" last week caused landslides and floods that sent 95 families to evacuation centers but no casualties.

The city remained on a red alert status as of last Friday as monsoon rains continued to pour intermittently.

BAGUIO CITY – The city council last week agreed to furnish copies of a privilege speech by Councilor Fred Bagbagen as to alleged irregular spending of the Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO), to Joint Congressional Power Commission Co-Chair Senator Sergio Osmena III, House Cooperative Development Committee Chair Representative Jose Ping-ay, Energy Regulatory Commission Secretary Jose Almendras, and Department of Justice Secretary Leila de Lima.

Baguio, LISTT areas finally ink cluster development approach

You're sure it's a government project if it takes too long to get off the ground and be implemented.

That ribbing on the Great Walls of China – which took centuries to build –may apply to some of the on-going road projects. Some urban planners say it also applies to the BLISTT concept of cluster development for Baguio and the adjoining towns of Benguet: La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba and Tublay.

UB Defenders land overall in National TKD tourney

Baguio's Taekwondo jins once again topped over-all standing in the Smart National Poomsae Championships Sunday (July 22) at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Metro Manila.

The Smart National Poomsae (forms) Taekwondo Championships is an event organized by the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) and sponsored by Smart Communications Inc., PLDT, Milo, MVP Sports Foundation and the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

More or less 1,400 participants came to the prestigious event in the sport of Taekwondo from the three main islands of the country; Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and competed in five major events namely; individual standard poomsae, pair and team free style, synchronized and creative poomsae.
