BAGUIO CITY - The city government and the city district engineering office of the Dept. of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) on Thursday agreed to step up coordination in the implementation of road improvement projects in the city this year to minimize public inconvenience and avoid substandard quality of work.

P1.28B city budget approved

BAGUIO CITY – The city council approved in a special session last Friday the city's budget for 2013 amounting to P1,286,143,000.

The approved amount is higher by P118 million than last year's approved budget of P1,168,242,000.

Mayor Mauricio Domogan lauded the city council for swiftly acting on the proposed financial plan after thorough deliberations and consultations with the executive department.

Samaritans respond to young kidney patient's plea

Whoever they are, Samaritans out there lived out and delivered the substance of this season of sharing. They pooled P38,500 for 14-year old Ana Fontanilla, the youngest patient undergoing life-time hemodialysis treatment for kidney failure at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.

"The amount will be good for two months treatment," Marcela, the girl's 46-year old mother, texted last Thursday, four days after the Baguio weeklies carried her appeal.

Panagbenga committee reorganized

BAGUIO CITY – Gearing up for the 2013 edition of the Baguio Flower Festival, Mayor Mauricio Domogan last week reorganized the Panagbenga committees to begin the ground works for the February spectacle.

In Administrative Order No. 194, the mayor fortified the composition and functions of the policy and program review committee, the executive committee and the various program committees that will spearhead the festival.
