Gov. pack buses back in August

BAGUIO CITY – Bus lines using the Baguio Convention Center as ticketing, parking, loading and unloading areas shall be back at Gov. Pack road by the first week of August, Mayor Mauricio Domogan announced during the media forum last week.

Earlier, the mayor attended the Traffic and Transport Management Committee meeting where an evaluation was given as to the condition of Gov. Pack road.

The earlier announced transfer from the Baguio Convention Center parking area supposedly last week has been delayed due to unfinished projects within the Gov. Pack area, and inclement weather that hindered the pouring of concrete, the mayor clarified.

A thorough curing period for the repaired road is needed, it was known.

Accordingly, the repaired road is part of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) rehabilitation, reconstruction, upgrading of damaged roads project.

Though bus operators earlier reported that the present location is accident prone and slippery, the mayor stood pat on the delay of the transfer, after he considered the safety of the passengers, motorists and the general public. -juliegfianza
